Storage conditions
Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and strong oxidizing agents. Due to the unsaturated nature of this aldehyde, it is susceptible to oxidation and polymerization upon prolonged exposure to air. Recommended storage temperature is 2°C to 8°C (refrigerated) with inert gas protection (nitrogen blanketing) to maintain optimal stability and prevent degradation. Containers should be made of glass, aluminum, or stainless steel; avoid prolonged storage in ordinary plastic or unlined metal containers. Under proper storage conditions, unopened containers can remain stable for 12 months.
