1-octene-3-butyrate (16491-54-6) is an almost colorless liquid with a metallic and earthy taste. Its chemical formula is C12H22O2, its boiling point is 248.35 °C, its density is 0.879 g/cm³, and its flash point is 99.72 °C. This compound is soluble in ethanol and most non-volatile oils, slightly soluble in propylene glycol, but insoluble in water.
